SP‑404MK II FX CTRL v1.0 Help
Hello
- This is a web‑MIDI FX controller for the Roland SP‑404 mk II.
- Randomize may spit out silence, feedback or ear/speaker‑killing levels.
Always monitor quietly first – you have been warned.
- Best viewed in Chrome / Edge with SP‑404 mk II OS 5.0 (works on 4.x too).
1. MIDI
- Connect the SP‑404 mk II via USB.
- Click Connect MIDI » choose the SP‑404 mk II for both I/O ports.
- Ensure the mkII is in MIDI mode B, Pad Channels are 1/2 and we're sending clock out.
- All CC changes are sent to – and received from – the hardware in real‑time.
2. Bus FX
- On / Off toggle – click the bus‑button or press 1‑5 to pause/start MIDI CC output.
- Bypass – ⌘/Ctrl + click the bus or hit QWERT.
Clicking again restores the previously selected FX.
- FX Type – select from the drop‑down.
- Parameters – up to six sliders / toggles per FX.
- “Control All” batch edit – hold ⌘/Ctrl while dragging parameter.
- Swap compatible FX between buses – drag the small handle at the bottom of a column onto another column.
- Shift + click a bus‑button → randomise upto six parameters on that bus.
3. Morph
- Morph On / Off – click the Morph button or press 8.
- Shift + click header → randomise 4 Morph corners.
⌘/Ctrl + click → reset Morph corners.
- Pad Joystick – click‑drag inside the square to morph between four corners (disabled if Morph Off or the LFO is On).
- Corner buttons 1‑4
• Click = capture current bus parameter snapshot to that corner.
• Shift + click = clear corner.
• Drag one button onto another to swap their snapshots.
- Edit modulated params – turn Morph Off, then tweak; Shift + click a knob/slider to remove it from Morph modulation.
4. LFO
- LFO On / Off – click the header or press 9.
⌘/Ctrl + click resets every LFO control to its default.
- Mode – Free (rate sliders) or Sync (MIDI‑clock divisions).
- Shape – sine, triangle, square, saw, ramp, noise.
- Rate / Division X·Y, Depth X·Y, Center X·Y – click a label to reset that field.
- Shift + click the header → randomise every LFO control.
5. Sidechain
- On / Off – press the Sidechain button or key 0.
- Shift + click header → randomise all SC controls.
⌘/Ctrl + click → reset to defaults.
- Learn Pad – click then hit any pad to set the trigger.
- DADSR – master T (Time) plus proportional D A D S R sliders.
- Curve & Gain – C & G : shape the contour and sensitivity.
- 6 Destinations – route the envelope to any FX parameter, LFO parameter or Morph X/Y directly or inverted.
6. Randomize
Bus Matrix
– include/preclude buses in %randomize/morph/sidechain.
% FX Types
– randomise the FX type on every bus.
% Parameters
– randomise all parameters on every bus.
% All
– randomise both FX types and parameters on every bus.
- Shift + click a bus-button → randomise just that bus.
- Shift + click Morph / LFO / Sidechain headers → randomise respective panels.
7. Presets
- Shift + click a slot → save / overwrite current system state.
- ⌘/Ctrl + click a slot → delete.
- Click an active slot → load Preset; click an empty slot → load a blank state.
- Drag & drop slots to reorder; the last‑loaded slot flashes yellow.
- Shift + click the Presets label → fill all empty slots with random patches.
- Export, Import all Presets and Clear All to reset all slots to empty.
8. Global Shortcuts
- ⌘/Ctrl + Z → Undo | ⇧ + ⌘/Ctrl + Z or Ctrl + Y → Redo.
- Hold ⌘/Ctrl while dragging any parameter → “Control All”.
- 12345 Bus MIDI out toggle, QWERT Toggle bus bypass.
- 8 Morph, 9 LFO, 0 Side‑chain – On/Off toggle.
